What is the HYK Marathon Challenge?

The HYK Marathon Challenge is a free and open event that invites you to take on 1 of 5 nominated hiking marathons across the UK. Hiking through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country, you will be challenged to capture five amazing photos with captions that we have provided below. When you post your five photos on social media, tag hykstoreuk and you will be entered into a competition to win over £200 worth of HYK gear! So, if you're up for the challenge, join us today and take part in the HYK Marathon Challenge!

When does the challenge begin?

The HYK Marathon Challenge is an adventure of five different hike marathons, the first starting on Saturday 3rd June and the last starting on Sunday 9th July. If you're looking to challenge yourself physically and mentally while hiking through some of the most scenic terrains, then the HYK Marathon Challenge is perfect for you. This challenge is designed to test your physical endurance and mental strength while taking in the beauty of the countryside.

With five marathons spread over the five weekends, you'll get the chance to explore some of the world's most beautiful hiking trails and sights. Whether you choose to tackle one marathon, or go all-in and complete all five marathons, you're sure to find yourself immersed in the breathtaking experience of hiking and exploration. The HYK Marathon Challenge is a unique experience offering five nominated hikes to explore. No matter which route you choose, the HYK Marathon Challenge will offer a unique and unforgettable experience, choose from one (or more if you dare) of the below:

How do I register for the HYK marathon challenge?

Participating in the HYK Marathon Challenge is easy and free. There is no need to fill out any registration forms, or pay any fees. All you have to do is post on your social media account about joining the challenge, tagging us and letting us know that you're taking part.

If you're ready to take on the challenge, grab your hiking boots and hit the trails! For safety reasons, make sure you always plan ahead and are prepared for whatever terrain you may face. Bring plenty of water, snacks, a map and a first-aid kit just in case. Most importantly, keep track of your progress as you go.
